My Mountain

Presented at Centre of Evagoras Lanitis Limassol, Cyprus and Jan Van Eeyck Academy, Maastricht, Holland. 

My Mountain is a moving image installation filmed in Limassol that explores inter-generational relationships in Cyprus. At its centre is four-year-old Achilles; his grandmother, Ellie, and Maureen, a seventy-five-year-old family friend. Culture and affection are exchanged via hand games and stories between Achilles and his grandmother as they shelter from the sweltering summer heat. The installation interweaves these tender tactile relationships with images of the landscape and daily life that surround them. Sound and image are choreographed to embody contrasting imaginations and feelings.
